I have honestly never been more disappointed, but, such is life! Would it be such a hardship for RFT to have a tab that says, yes, we are big supporters for the Texas Nationalist Movement, instead of hiding the affiliation?

I do not understand why it would be their obligation to post any of their religious or political views. America allows us to believe what we want. I love RFT for the music and friendships it brings to my life. I am quite sure that people I call my friends do not agree with some of my views cause I lean towards the left. Dang Diane, make up your mind. Initially you did not want to be exposed to any of our political beliefs and now you want us to discuss it. When I became aware of TNM, I went to the source (Daniel & Cara) and asked a few questions, always a good thing to do if you don't know all the answers! Since RFT is about the music and the artists, they do not feel it necessary to mix the two, and I for one am glad about that. They have never tried to hide the fact that they are involved in TNM, kinda hard to when Daniel is on TV from time to time, and will gladly ask questions about it when asked, BUT their political beliefs do not affect this being the damn place for listener driven music!!! That they don't combine the two passions in their life is admirable, not some dirty secret! RFT is about the music and the artist....TNM is about the politics. Period!!! My political beliefs are my own, and I appreciate being able to get on RFT and listen to great music, chat with friends, post in the forums about music....if I want to discuss politics I can, but it's my choice, and truly no one elses. Stop looking for reasons to crucify these people Diane. If you don't like their politics, fine....go to their political site and post something on there...this is a music site, not a political one. They are entitled to their own choices, just like you are. As a mother to an entertainer, and as a booking agent to artists that are played on their site, I applaud them for keeping this site about the music. If I want to hear their politics I can ask them or go to the TNM website, no secrets, nothing hidden, just separate, the way it shoud be!~Posted 739 days ago

Then go to another Texas music Station that posts their political beliefs, I'm sure there are tons of them. I have always liked you even though we don't share the same beliefs but now I see that’s a one-way street. Can't you just like someone for who they are and what they do to support the music you and I love? If you are that concerned with others beliefs then, your missing the music girl. We are here for the music there are other places to go for politics. Tell me when the music stopped mattering and Politics became your music of choice? Do you think they should post their religious views too Why are you so concerned with someone’s politics anyway? We all believe is something and most of us will not align with your beliefs but most us can put that aside and enjoy the music together and friends. You can't seem to do that and that makes me feel sad for you and your dissapointment.

I have to agree with everyones else's post on this matter. Much the same as Barb, when I found out about the TNM I also went to Daniel and Cara about it. The first thing that Daniel said is that he never tried to hide his political beliefs, but he never wanted it to interfere with Radio Free Texas, and what the mission of Radio Free Texas was. I think everyone here will agree that Daniel and Cara have the right to keep there beliefs as quiet as the next person, there is no reason so call anyone out on this type of thing. To be honest, I feel bad that they are having to even read a discussion on the matter...the point is clear, Daniel and Cara have the right just as much as anyone else to keep there lives outside of there business (RFT) to themselves, and do not have to justify that to anyone. The fact that you Di, have taken the time out of your day to be the person to call them out shows just the level of maturity you hold. First I had to look up what the Texas Nationalist Movement was. I had heard of it before, but I never thought that it was a serious thing. I always thought it was some sort of amusement borne out of frustration kind of like when Chicago threatens to secede from Illinois every time our taxes go up to support a strictly downstate entity. Black underwear rocks.
If I hadn't been reminded last year that both my political and "religious" beliefs boil down to "Jesus Is Lord" I might very well be out there joining in the TNM because the USA is drifting far from where I think the foundation was laid.
But no matter what the issue, this site is always more pleasant when it sticks to music and I too applaud the First Family for keeping a nice separation between what they have going on. It would have been pretty easy to mix the two and you can't find anything on this site outside user commentary that says it is about anything but music.
As I sit here in my black drawers, I can't help but think that is the way it should be.
