Finally, a new band on the Texas music scene that breaks the cookie cutter mold of the past few years, and has an original sound. The Jackson Lee Brooks Band, out of Midland, Texas, started out in 2007. Their sound can be described as: pure, raw, and original. The main goal of the band is to stay true to their style of music and avoid the "bought" sound of so many bands you hear today. JLBB draws their inspiration from such names as Waylon Jennings, The Great Divide, The Toadies, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. With Texas Country and Southern Rock roots, the Jackson Lee Brooks Band has a Cross Canadian Ragweed meets Mickey and the Motorcars type sound. Their new single, "Ballad of a Broken Heart," has a rock n' roll attitude with soulful lyrics and a toe tapping beat. The band has performed with such names as Mike McClure, the Band of Heathens, and Micky & The Motorcars. |
