My Dad bought my first guitar for me when I was 10 years old. It took me a while to pick up the learning process but somehow I caught on. I started teaching myself, and listening to music on the radio to learn by ear. Once I learned most of the chords, I started composing my own music, and writing lyrics to it. Since that time, I've come to realize that this is what God put me on Earth to do, to share the music that I write. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with a song going in my head, and I can't shut it off. So, I write it down and call it my own. When I met my drummer, Nathan Ready, he really pushed me to play my music as many places as I can. My Dad, who plays the bass in the band, has been there every step of the way and he always believes in me, so that helps. Everywhere I play I meet new friends and meet fellow musicians. Every bit of the music that I write comes from my heart, and I know that there is a hard road ahead of me, but I'm ready to take it. I think that the music I've written has been influenced by the Texas scene, and Country music also. By "country" I mean good country music; the way it used to be. Not this crap you hear on the radio today. I don't wanna play music to get rich, I wanna' play music to be heard and hopefully make somebody smile, laugh, cry, or just plain have a good time. We are trying to get bigger gigs and branch out to places where we haven't been heard of yet. I appreciate all the support so far, and the support yet to come. I think that Texas music is gonna' last as long as we all want it to, and as long as I've got something to do with it, it'll last as long as I live, and long after I'm gone. We're recording a new album on July 22nd, and it will include all of the new songs that i've written within the past couple of months. Hopefully everyone will like those as much as they have the last 2 cd's. As long as y'all keep listening, I'll be playing. I hope to see you around at the shows; long live Texas Country Music.
