What can you think of a guy who makes first impressions wearing and afro wig and some huge gold pimp glasses? Perhaps he needs medication, perhaps his is on "medications." Either way, once you meet me, you'll never forget me.
Just a hardworking piece of oilfield trash, I taught myself to play guitar in 2008 and taught myself how to record and mix in 2009. I work hard on my music and try to make it the best it can be. It seems to be an ever evolving sound, and a learning experience. When someone asked me what Texas/Red Dirt Music was, I had to think of a simple way to explain it. So I told them "It's like if Lynyrd Skynyrd and George Strait mated, this would be the result." And I think that is the perfect description.
I'm been singing for over 13 yrs now, and mostly doing the Nashvegas songs. Simply because thats what the people I was around wanted to hear. Then, in May 2008, I discovered Radiofreetexas.org and realized that there were people out there who loved and wanted to hear the music I wanted to write and play. From there, it all snowballed and crashed into my first album, "Nothing Fancy."
Where do I go from here? I guess it's really up to you. I'll play for anyone, anywhere, any time I can. If you want to hear me live where you are, let me know. If we can't find a venue, hell, I'll come to your livingroom! I don't care if it's 1,000 people or one, as long as everyone enjoys the show.
I've opened for or shared the stage with such acts as Brandon Rhyder, Ben Morris and The Great American Boxcar Chorus, Zack Walther and the Cronkites, Donny Waits, the Blue Broussard Band, Tres Womack, Andrea Marie and the Magnolia Band, South Texas Destroyers, Forest Wayne Allen, Buster Ellisor, Luke Adair, Josh Mac, Leavin Sundown, Andrea Beavers Band, JB and the Moonshine Band, Last Call Outlaws, David Day, Red Dvorak, David Fenley, Michael Gilardi, Miles Smith, Nathan Lange, Michael Wren, Danni Powers, Grant Cook, Steve Judice, Brad Huckabay and many more!
Thanks for listening to the tunes and requesting them. Thanks for buying the cd, coming to the shows, and just being good friends. I consider each and every fan a friend and will always strive to make you all proud!
